Romanian Press Club wished Romanian journalists, on Press Day, many inspired years in the profession and came up with few possible ideas to help recover Romanian press sector.
“Continuing to clig on ‘crisis’, after a few unfortunate years for press, is a dead end, a negative approach and its usage cannot be an excuse for the lack of capacity to find recovery solutions other than cutting costs”, Romanian Press Club says, in a press release.
“Creative journalism and inspired management must be the ways for mass-media’s relaunch”, it adds, mention that respecting the ethichs rules is vital
“Romanian journalism must become again, now and not in an undefined future, a force and this must happen by recognizing and stimulating individual values, respecting ethics norms and the/ contractual relationships”, the document says.
At its turn, ActiveWatch says, in a message related to Press Day, that press freedom in Romania continues to be in danger because of “state abuses, sacrificing the public mission of journalism on the altar of patronage interests and loosing the professional models inside of the professional guild”
“In these conditions, a journalistic product of quality and that serves the public interest is harder and harder to find on the media market, oftenly finding a refuge on independent platforms that exist online”, the organization notices.
