Sorin Bugan, a journalist from Sinaia, won a lawsuit at European Court for Human Rights, with the instance deciding his freedom of speech right was affected, according to Digi24.ro.
Bugan was forced to pay damages to a hospital’s director after he published, in 2005, a series of articles that were highlighting the unadequate management of a local public hospital.
ECHR’s judges condemned Romanian authorities to pay Euro 6,500 for not respecting freedom of expression right, as stipulated in European Convention on human rights.
