CNA recommendation: No “New leu”, “old Leu” or RON on TV

CNA recommends TVs to only use “leu” and “ban” when designated Romanians currency’s divisions in their TV programs.

Laura Georgescu, CNA president: „There were a series of complaints. The biggest problem is that, even if BNR made since 2006 a recommendation, TVs and journalists aren’t using the terms leu and ban. There isn’s a new leu and old leu or a RON. Just the terms of Leu and ban”

Georgescu said the recommendation will be send to all broadcasters and posted on CNA’s website. The recommendation was approved with CNA with an unanimity of votes.
