Lorand Prud`home, Eurosport’s head of rights acquisition and sales department, traveled to Bucharest to meet Gino Iorgulescu, president of LPF (Romanian Professional Football League). According to Eurosport officials, a series of discussions are being held related to sport’s channel take over by Discovery.
Eurosport is interested by League I, as Valentin Macovescu, international relations director Eurosport, stated, in a press conference. He said the meeting with Gino Iorgulescu was a mutual initiative and aimed to present Eurosport and find out how League’s rights can be bought.
On the other hand, Discovery could take over fully Eurosport, and it’s in talks to increase its shares package from 20% to 49% or even 100%. A decision on Discovery shares participation increase will be announced during January or February 2014, according to Macovescu.
