Bucharest Court rejected Antena 1’s action against Paginademedia.ro’s editor, Petrisor Obae, in Ioana Tufaru’s case. The solution given by the instance says “The court rejects as unfounded the demand of the claimer. With appeal in 15 days since the decision was communicated”.
Today’s decision comes after a trial started in February 2013 (when Antena’s demand was presented to the instance) and has the last court appearance on January 7th 2014
Where did the trial started: Access Direct with Ioana Tufaru
We remind that Antena Group decided to start a legal action against Paginademedia.ro’s editor, Petrisor Obae, after some articles on the subject of Acces Direct with Ioana Tufaru were published on the website.
More exactly, Paginademedia published, on February 4th 2013, an article on one of the editions of Access Direct on Antena 1 in which the main subject was the hygiene of Ioana Tufaru. A ear pick with the result of Tufaru’s hygiene was presented in focus in the show (The show was later fined by CNA with RON 20,000).
On February 5th, Paginademedia.ro published the list of the companies that had commercials during the ad spaces during the incriminated show.
On February 6th, Avon decided it doesn’t want to associate its name with Acces Direct show and withdrew its advertising from the show.
On February 7th, Antena1 announced it will start a legal action against Petrisor Obae, editor of Paginademedia.ro, “considering the image prejudices and the material damages suffered by the company following the defamatory actions against Antena 1 and against Access Direct show”. The channel was asking for material prejudices worth Euro 500.000 and moral damages of Euro 100.000.
