GSP TV, sports channel owned by Intact, will be closed in the next period, Gazeta Sporturilor writes, quoting “credible media sources”.
GSP notes that the channel will completely change format and the target public and one of the versions vehiculated at this time is that the sports channel will turn into ZU TV, a TV channel for Radio ZU.
In this case, the new channel director will be appointed Mihai Morar, now host and moderator at Radio ZU and Antena Stars.
GSP.ro also writes that there was no managerial link between Gazeta Sporturilor and the TV channel GSP TV, with the 2 mentioned medias being managed by different teams and companies.
GSP TV was launched on July 26th 2008, when the channel won, together with RCS&RDS, the broadcasting rights for the football games in League 1. GSP TV was divided from the start in 3 channels, in order to be able to broadcast all the 9 games in the internal championship; after a period, due to tensions with its partner and because of very big debts, the channel ceased the broadcasting rights to DigiSport, RCS&RDS’ sports channel.
At this moment, Antena TV Group, that owns GSP TV licence, didn’t submit to CNA any demand to modify the licence. In order for GSP TV to transform in ZU TV, CNA must approve licence’s modification
