Kanal D’s management bets on a 30% increase in revenues this year, Claudia Ion, sales director of the station, stated for Wall-Street.ro.
Kanal D posted 27% increase in revenues in the first 11 months of 2013, determined by the audiences and by the increase of prices by almost 10%.
“We have to increase (the prices) this year also, because content production is more costly than the price we are selling it with (…). When the advertising demand decreased, there was an abrupt decrease in prices but, since last autumn, we saw an increase in demand and, starting September to the end of the year, we were sold-out (…) The demand was of 140%, so we couldn’t honor all the orders and that is also because the space is limited, it would be normal to increase the prices”, Ion explained.
According to her, Kanal D Romania’s management aims for a 30% increase of revenues, which might bring the channel on profit for the first time since its launch on the local market, in 2007
