VPlay, a free website relaying online different TV series, and other similar websites, such as filme-free.ro, filme-subtitrate.ro weren’t available for accessing anymore, most showing maintainance messages or “suspended account”, as HotNews.ro wrote.
It all comes after CNA decided, on November 1st, to make a denouncement to the Police, after it was informed by Pro TV on 42 websites that distribute movies and series without respecting Romanian audiovisual legislation and without owning the right that allow them to do so. Paginademedia.ro wrote about this here.
MediaPro’s representatives that also own Voyo.ro – a paid content video platform – hope to a Court order to close those websites.
Officials from Romanian Police and Bucharest Police stated, for HotNews.ro, that they didn’t received any denouncement on this aspect.
The scandal related to VPlay and other similar platforms distributing for free movies and series over the internet started heated debates over the internet. The best conclusion to resume the entire pro’s and con’s opinions expressed online came from Dragos Stanca, that wrote, on his Facebook account, that is all like “complaining that the Police took the stoled car that you were using”.
